To further use the potential of pond water, ensure Penaeus vannamei breeding with high-yield harvest, and reduce its disease, since this June, Yuyao City Aquatic Technology Extension Centre took a trial of planting water convolvulus in the pond. The result showed that water convolvulus would absorb the excessive nitrogen, phosphorus and other nutrients, and speed up decomposition of ammonia and nitrite, so as to ensure stable water quality, reduce diseases and risk, raise shrimp quality and efficiency as well.
The project is carried out smoothly recently. Acordding to regular water quality analysis, the pond's water are more stable in pond with convolvulus planted than without. Ammonia, nitrite and other chemicals indexes are lower as well, shrimps grow healthily, and the convolvulus is expected to be harvested 500 kg per mu. |
